Ontario Forms

Privacy Policy

Last updated July 2026

Ontario Forms (“we,” “us,” “our”) provides software that helps you complete Ontario Form 13 and Form 13.1 financial statements. Because these forms contain sensitive personal and financial information, we keep our data handling deliberately narrow. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.

This policy describes our current practices in plain language. It is not legal advice. If you have specific privacy or compliance obligations, consult a qualified professional.

Information we collect

Information you enter

To prepare a financial statement you enter information such as income, expenses, assets, debts, and related details, along with names and other identifiers required by the form. This content is saved as one or more drafts tied to your account so you can leave and return to it.

Account information

We use Google Firebase Authentication to sign you in. Depending on the sign-in method you choose, this includes an email address and an account identifier. We do not store your password.

Technical information

Our hosting and infrastructure providers process standard technical data (such as IP address and browser type) to deliver and secure the service. We do not use this information to build advertising profiles.

How we use your information

  • To let you create, save, edit, review, and export your financial statements.
  • To keep drafts associated with your account and available across sessions.
  • To provide support when you contact us.
  • To operate, secure, and improve the service, and to comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use the financial details you enter for advertising.

Where your data is stored

Your drafts and account data are stored using Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore and Firebase Authentication). Data may be processed on infrastructure operated by Google. Access to stored form data is restricted so that a signed-in user can access their own drafts; our database security rules are designed to prevent one account from reading another account’s data.

Payment information

Completing a form is free. A one-time $49 CAD export purchase is planned. When payment is available it will be handled by a third-party payment processor, and we will not store full card numbers on our systems. This policy will be updated with processor details before payments go live.

Sharing and disclosure

We share information only with service providers that operate the product on our behalf (such as hosting, authentication, and, in future, payment processing), and only as needed to run the service. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or security of users and the public. We do not otherwise share the contents of your financial statements.

Retention and deletion

We keep your drafts for as long as your account is active so your work remains available. You can delete individual drafts within the application. To request deletion of your account and associated data, contact us at support@ontarioforms.ca.

Your choices and rights

You may access and correct the information in your drafts directly in the application, and you may request deletion as described above. Depending on your location, you may have additional rights under applicable privacy laws; contact us to exercise them.

Security

We use reputable infrastructure providers, authentication, and access rules intended to protect your data. No online service can guarantee absolute security, so please use a strong, unique password for your sign-in method and keep it confidential.

Children

Ontario Forms is intended for adults preparing court forms and is not directed to children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product evolves. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Material changes will be reflected here.
